Why are there so many church folks afraid to talk about money?

Growing up in church . I have observed that many Church folks are afraid to talk about money. When I hear most of the prays of the church folks it's something that money can answer. DO we have the right view of money in the church,or is it still taboo to talk about and understand money?

I don't think its just "church folk" that are uncomfortable about talking about money...its people in general! People can be insecure about money, especially if they feel they make too much or too little. In the church, its other peoples perception of your money that can make it awkward as well. If you drive a certain car, give too much or too little for an offering, wear expensive clothing, etc. The wierd thing is that a lot of church folk equate having money to being blessed. When in actuality, a person can have very little and still be blessed. I just think we have some educating to do as far as this subject is concerned.

i think people are afraid to talk about finances with others. they don't want others to get the wrong impression of them when they explain their views on money. i think some of us don't have the right veiws on money. i think we need to look at the way God views finances. we can get a better understanding of how to handle finances to avoid the pitfalls of getting into debt.
